Canada's seal hunt to close early after low harvest
OTTAWA (AFP) – A lack of sea ice in one of the warmest Canadian winters on record and a European boycott have ruined what was to be a banner seal hunt off Canada's Atlantic coast this month, according to officials and sealers.
The allergy season is just beginning and already the pollen count has been thousands for days. Pollen is present everywhere, it accumulates on sidewalks, cars, clothing when people venture outside even if, only for a short time.
The source of all this trouble, ABC News reports, is a "pollen explosion like most of the country has never seen." Spring's late arrival, combined with record breaking warm temperatures, is causing "all the different trees, flowers and grasses to share their love at the same time.
